An ICA and a BIN is required for a member to perform any card issuing and/or acquiring activities.
- ICA: Interbank Card Association - A four to six digit identification assigned by MasterCard for use by a member to uniquely identify activity the member is responsible for.
- BIN: Bank Identification Number - A unique series of numbers assigned by MasterCard to a principal member and used as the first six digits of a cardholder account number.
Only a principal MasterCard member may be assigned an ICA and BIN. A Principal member of Maestro and Cirrus may be assigned a debit identifier. For the Europe region only, principal Maestro and Cirrus members may obtain an ISO BIN.
